Money

• Never pay a deposit for a property you have not visited and whose owner or agent you have not met.
• Never pay for a vehicle hire in advance to someone you have not met. See the vehicle, see their ID, agree dates and price in writing, then pay.
• Never pay a fee to get a job. Real employers do not charge applicants.
• Solwezi Connect never takes payments. Anyone claiming to collect money for us is lying.

Meeting people

• Meet in a public place the first time. Tell someone where you are going.
• For work in a home, agree who will be there. Providers: bring your own ID and be ready to show it.

Property

• Ask to see proof the person can let or sell the property. A landlord has a title deed or council record; an agent has an agreement with the owner.
• Get the rent, deposit and what is included in writing before you move anything in.

Vehicles

• Check the vehicle matches the listing. Ask about insurance, fuel policy and what happens in a breakdown.
• Providers: check the hirer's licence and NRC before handing over keys. The app's hire request is not a contract; your written agreement is.

Your account

• Never share your password or a one-time code with anyone, including someone claiming to be Ginger Tec. We will never ask for them.

What the badges mean

• Phone verified: the number was confirmed by code.
• ID verified: a person at Ginger Tec saw an identity document matching the profile name.
• Verified listing: a person at Ginger Tec checked that specific listing.
• None of these is a police check, a credit check or a guarantee of good conduct.

If something is wrong

Use the Report link on any listing or profile, or report here. A person reads every report. In an emergency call the police on 991.
